About Us
For more than 50 years GDI has provided safe, reliable and expert solutions to the blast-hole drilling needs of stone quarries.
We presently operate a fleet of over 30 track and truck-mounted drill rigs. We are equipped to drill 3 ½" to 8" diameter holes, as well as angle holes of up to 30 degrees. The rigs are carefully maintained in the field and in our shop, which limits down time and increases productivity to the quarries we serve.
Multiple well-maintained rigs, experienced personnel and a commitment to do the best job possible for your operation – that's what GDI is all about. Give us a call to discuss your drilling needs.

Our History |
In 1967, after serving in the United States Navy, Bill Boatman saw an opportunity to provide a contract drilling service to stone quarries back home in Indiana. He started with two drill rigs servicing southern Indiana, and from there the company grew to today's 29 drill rigs servicing quarries across all of Indiana, Kentucky, western Ohio, eastern Illinois and northern Tennessee. Bill's son, Matt, joined the company in 1998. In 2008, as Bill began his transition into retirement; Matt stepped into the role of president. Today, Matt continues to help his father's dream grow and expand into new and exciting territory.
